The drama provides audiences with two viewing options: a 15+ version and a 19+ version, each offering varying degrees of intensity in its intimate scenes. In the 19+ version, Cha Joo Young’s fearless portrayal drew widespread attention and praise.

One of the major topics of discussion was the bed scenes and exposure involving Cha Joo Young and Lee Hyun Wook. In the 19+ version of episodes 1 and 2 on TVing, scenes of Lee Bang Won and Queen Won Gyeong’s marriage, along with intense bed scenes involving Lee Bang Won and the maid Chae Ryeong (played by Lee Yi Dam), drew attention.

In her scenes, Cha Joo-young boldly exposed her upper body, leaving a strong impression. As in her previous work in “The Glory,” where some of her exposure scenes were completed with a body double and CGI, questions arose as to whether her exposure in “The Queen Who Crowns” was real or digitally altered.

Later on, the actress explained the process behind these bed scenes herself, stating that both a body double and CGI were utilized.

“In the scene where my back is showing, a body double was used. But in the scene where I take off my shirt, that is me. The body is mine. But for that scene, there was some editing done through CGI”, Cha Joo-young said.

Meanwhile, according to media outlet OSEN, the nude scenes of actress Lee Yi Dam were also processed with CGI according to the director’s intention.

Meanwhile, “The Queen Who Crowns” marks Cha Joo Young’s first historical drama. She previously shared, “I’ve always wanted to try a historical drama. The unique and differentiated storyline made it even more attractive,” and added, “The character’s dedication to taking responsibility for her chosen love and dreams cannot simply be described as cool,” showing how deeply she immersed herself in the role.

The pressure was also immense, as Cha Joo Young explained, “I always boldly acted as if I were Queen Won Gyeong. I tried to convey what I could say through my ‘eyes,’ analyzing my character with great detail.”
